Program notes

Watch final-round competition action from the legendary Victoria Hall in Geneva! An international field of 29 talented young pianists has been whittled down to three exceptional finalists, who perform a concerto of their choosing—alongside the prestigious Orchestre de la Suisse Romande—from a list of favorites by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Clara and Robert Schumann, Saint-Saëns, and Ravel.

Named in honor of the legendary Vladimir Horowitz, born in Kyiv in 1903, the Horowitz Competition has always taken place in the Ukrainian capital. While the war in Ukraine is ongoing, the World Federation of International Music Competitions has offered their support and assistance to ensure that the competition can hold its 2023 edition in Geneva, Switzerland. In addition to the regular awards, prizes will be given to the best Ukrainian artist and the best performance of a Ukrainian work.

This is just one of over a thousand thrilling concerts available on medici.tv, the web's leading classical music streaming platform!
