Sobre el programa...

Two Buenos Aires natives, childhood friends, and legends of the international music scene join the Wiener Philharmoniker on the stage of the Vienna Musikverein: Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich! They perform together Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1, before orchestra and maestro continue the exceptional evening with Mahler's Symphony No. 7.

A Romantic masterpiece par excellence, Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major took its composer 30 years and six drafts to arrive at the final version known and loved by audiences today. Mahler’s Seventh long daunted great conductors and orchestras alike because of its paradoxical contrasts, and has only recently won a more prominent position in its composer’s symphonic oeuvre.

Founded in 1842, the Wiener Philharmoniker is one of the finest ensembles in the world. It is the only one with a democratic self-administration and many of the musicians play in the orchestra for the duration of their career.

The concert is available for two days only!
