Program notes

Michael Tilson Thomas, Co-Founder and Artistic Director Laureate of the New World Symphony (NWS), returns for its 35th Anniversary Season finale, a moving collaboration with Lourdes Lopez and Miami City Ballet (MCB). Together, these Floridian pillars of culture, music and education perform Debussy's epoch-making Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune while MCB principals interpret Jerome Robbins's stunning choreography, and then Stravinsky's twelve-tone masterpiece Agon, choreographed by the great George Balanchine. American conductor Andrew Grams also leads NWS Fellows in a riveting rendition of Stravinsky's "Dumbarton Oaks" Concerto.
