Milano-native and Verdi specialist Gianandrea Noseda returns to the Verbier Festival to conduct the composer’s sublime Requiem.
His Tosca from 2011 Verbier Festival took our breath away: here again is Gianandrea Noseda in another founding work of the Italian classical music repertoire. For this masterpiece of sacred music, Noseda is joined by the choir of Turin’s Teatro Regio, of which he is the music director.
A few days after the webcast of his Otello starring Anna Netrebko, Noseda explored another facet of the composer’s oeuvre in his performance of the Requiem, continuing the celebration in 2013 of Verdi’s 200th birthday. His Messa da requiem is moving in its sincerity.
