Program notes

Three years ago, the Carl Nielsen International Competition combined its violin, flute, and clarinet disciplines into one concurrent competition, and in 2022, the triple tradition continues! Join us in Odense, Denmark, for final-round action from this year's edition of one of the world's most prestigious competitions. In this final round, the competition's top three flutists will all perform Busoni’s Divertimento, Op. 52, and Nielsen’s Flute Concerto, alongside the Odense Symphony Orchestra under the acclaimed Italian conductor Daniela Musca. This year’s flute jury is chaired by Karl-Heinz Schütz.

The flute prizes at the 2022 Carl Nielsen International Competition have been awarded to…

1st Prize: Alberto Navarra
2nd Prize: Seohyeon Kim
3rd Prize: Alberto Acuña Almela
