Valery Gergiev conducts Prokofiev and Mozart – With Alexandra Conunova

Valery Gergiev conducts the Mariinsky Orchestra in a concert featuring Prokofiev's Symphonies Nos. 4 and 6 and Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3, with 2015 International Tchaikovsky competition prizewinner Alexandra Conunova as soloist.

For this year’s MPHIL 360°, Valery Gergiev and the Münchner Philharmoniker join forces with the world-renowned Mariinsky Orchestra of St. Petersburg to put together a musical celebration of impressive proportions! The three day festival presents all of Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonies and piano sonatas, all five of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s violin concerti as well as selected piano sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti and works by Richard Wagner and Edward Elgar. Stars and star-ensembles of today’s classical music world will also be taking part in the performances, in particular honorees of the International Tchaikovsky competition.
