Roger Muraro — Pianista

Sobre el programa...

In commemoration of Eliane Richepin’s 15th death anniversary, Roger Murao pays tribute to her through a program dedicated to Liszt, who was so appreciated by the outstanding pianist.

Eliane Richepin, born in 1910 in Paris, is internationally known as one of the greatest performers of all time. She has given more than 1,200 recitals and 700 orchestral concerts under the direction of the Major conductors, but she has also dedicated a part of her life to education and to the organization of important cultural and artistic events. That is how she founded, in 1980, the Annecy International Musical Center as well as the first Night of the Piano, still operative today through the Annecy Classic Festival.

Roger Muraro, attached to Annecy where his career started, and lauded for his impressive technical properties but also known for his mastery of Messiaen’s repertoire, will pay tribute to his teacher, the one who revealed him, by dedicating a night to Franz Liszt.

The event will feature the composer's Spinning Chorus, a piano transcription from an extract of The Flying Dutchman composed by his friend and step-son Richard Wagner, as well as Isolde's Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde. Then, the Fantasy and Fugue the Theme B-A-C-H, originally composed for organ, along with Hungarian Rhapsodies No.10 & No.15 will be added to the list. Finally, Liszt's Sonata in B Minor will close the evening.
