Sobre el programa...

An organ player, harpsichord player and conductor, the Japanese musician Masaaki Suzuki, who studied in Amsterdam in the classes of Ton Koopman and Piet Kee, is one of the greatest experts and interpreters of Bach's music today. At the Verbier Festival, he conducts the young musicians of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra in the the Suite No. 1 composed by the Cantor of Leipzig's Thomasschule.

Then follows a Romantic programme, made up of the Chopin Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Daniil Trifonov, and the Mendelssohn Scottish Symphony.

A laureate of the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011, the Arthur Rubinstein Competition and the Frederic Chopin Competition in 2010, the young Daniil Trifonov is one of today's most promising pianists. After a recital in Verbier's Church on July 28 (available here), he performs the second piano concerto by Chopin, a composer whom he appreciates the most.
