Sobre el programa...

The young cello prodigee Edgar Moreau accompanied by the pianist Pierre-Yves Hodiques: their debuts on medici.tv!

Revealed by the Rostropovich competition, and then by the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where he was awarded the second prize at the early age of 17, Edgar Moreau is a rising star of cello. Now aged 18, he is a student of the CNSMDP (Paris Conservatory) and has already performed on internationally renowned stages, such as the Mariinsky Teatre's stage. In 2011 at the same Tchaikovsky Competition, Pierre-Yves Hodique won first prize as the competition's best accompanist. The two young musicians have now become regular partners on stage, and have performed at such prestigious venues as the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg.

At the Flâneries musicales de Reims, they chose a vast programme made up of works by Britten, Schumann, Rachmaninov and Éric Tanguy. Well-known for his taste in contemporary music (he was awarded the prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work at the 14th Tchaikovsky Competition), Edgar Moreau closes this concert with the French composer Éric Tanguy's Évocations.

Edgar Moreau is a 2011 laureate of the Fondation d'Entreprise Banque Populaire.
