Polish-born tenor Piotr Beczała is one of the most sought-after performers on today’s stages, acclaimed for the great beauty of his voice and for his commitment to the dramatic stakes of every role he plays. He has won acclaim in a wide variety of leading roles on the most prestigious opera stages — such as the Vienna State Opera and Bavaria State Opera, the Bayreuth Festival and the Metropolitan Opera — as well as solo and ensemble vocal repertoire, including a superb Verdi Requiem with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Salzburg Festival.
About Tugan Sokhiev

The renowned Tugan Sokhiev has conducted hundreds of concerts and operas with the world’s greatest orchestras, including dozens of appearances with the Vienna Philharmonic in cities all across Europe and on tour in Asia. During his tenure as Music Director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse from 2008-22, the orchestra achieved international prominence for their concerts and recordings, winning a prestigious Diapason d’Or in 2020. This is maestro Sokhiev’s first time conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert.
