Program notes
For virtuoso violinist Augustin Hadelich, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto is a piece that "awakens something inside of you and carries you away with it" from the very first listen. His rendition of this repertoire favorite at the 2025 Aspen Music Festival and School—a "transcendental moment of musicianship" according to one festival patron—is part of a program conducted by the great Stéphane Denève, who also leads the Aspen Festival Orchestra in Strauss's An Alpine Symphony, set amid the grandeur of the Colorado Rockies. Hear from Hadelich, Denève, AFO musicians, and more about this epic concert!
