Program notes
Join the Ensemble Écoute at the sixth edition of the Festival Singer-Polignac in a concert celebrating spectral music and the masterpieces of Gérard Grisey, Tristan Murail, and Philippe Hurel. From the colorful harmonies and miniaturized orchestration of La Barque Mystique to the haunting rhythms of Pour Luigi and the dynamic extremes of Talea, the performance showcases the remarkable versatility of the movement. Under the skilful baton of Fernando Palomeque, the program also features an especially revised version of Blur by Imsu Choi, artist-in-residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac — a contemporary work whose nuanced, delicate sonorities reflect the enduring relevance of Spectralism in today’s musical landscape.
