Program notes

The Quatuor Zaïde lights up the stage in a brilliantly unique concert from the Festival Singer-Polignac. The program begins with the String Quartet in E-flat Major by Fanny Mendelssohn, illustrious sister of Felix and one of the best-known women composers from the 19th century. Pianist Jonas Vitaud then joins the quartet for a memorable and emotional performance of César Franck’s powerful Piano Quintet—with a stunning piano part first performed by Camille Saint-Saëns!
