The George Enescu International Competition launches its 20th edition in 2026, revolving around the theme: “In Pursuit of Excellence.” Acting as a launching platform for outstanding musicians, the competition also promotes the legacy of Romanian composer George Enescu to artists worldwide. It features four compelling categories: cello, violin, piano, and composition, with each round taking place in Bucharest, Romania.

In the cello final, three talented cellists — Joshua Kováč (USA), Sanghyeok Park (South Korea), and Samuel Niederhauser (Switzerland) — perform some of the cello repertoire's most prized concertos by Dvořák and Shostakovich. The distinguished jury of established artists, presided over by renowned cellist Arto Noras, will weigh all the artists’ strengths and determine who will finish in first place…
