Program notes

The Concours de Genève, founded in 1939 as the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM), is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international music competitions. With the aim to discover, promote, and support young talented artists on the way to an international career, the Concours de Genève also has the distinction of spotlighting different disciplines in every edition. In 2022, pianists and composers have the chance to compete for the top prizes!

This final piano round allows our four remaining competitors—who have distinguished themselves from among an initial pool of nearly 200—to interpret a concerto of their choosing alongside the world-class Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, led by Maržena Diakun. Streamed live from Geneva's famous Victoria Hall, stay tuned after the thrilling concertos for the awards ceremony to find out which pianist will take home the highest honors…
