Program notes
The young Russian prodigy Daniil Trifonov presents an all-Chopin program featuring works for solo piano and for piano and orchestra.
Since his breakthrough appearance at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition—where Valery Gergiev personally presented him with the Grand Prize—Daniil Trifonov has become one of the most-watched pianists of his generation. His Verbier Festival debut performances of works by Chopin in 2012 were met with international applause. Experience both of these appearances here, which featured Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and selected Études respectively.
