Брамс, дирижирует Андрес Ороско-Эстрада

Under the baton of Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the Wiener Philharmoniker go back in time with Brahms’s Variations on a Theme by Haydn, a work premiered by the same orchestra in 1873 with the composer himself on the podium! The product of 20 years of gestation, the program’s second work is Brahms’s First Symphony in C Minor. In 1876, this symphony was inspired by Beethoven’s symphonic language in a time when Wagner was king. Foregoing musical fireworks, but filled with purity, Hans von Bülow called Brahms’s First Beethoven’s “Tenth Symphony”.
