О программе

Here, the Viennese conductor Willi Boskovsky, heads the Vienna Philharmonic and accompanied by the Vienna Boys Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben) offers a musical journey to the timeless generation of waltzes and mazurkas by Viennese composers such as Strauss, Ziehrer & Suppe.

In this documentary, we look at the kings of the waltz (Johann Strauss II and his brother Josef Strauss, Carl Michael Ziehrer, conductor and composer, author of hundreds of waltzes, polkas and mazurkas) as well as examining one of the great masters of operetta, Franz von Zuppe, who wrote more than thirty works of the genre.

In this documentary, music expresses more than words about the finest marches, waltzes and polkas composed by the Viennese masters. The musical flavors of the festival take us to the streets of historic Vienna, and through this emerges portraits of composers of the 19th century.

We see scenes of everyday life in 1870s Vienna, horse rides between towers and racing. Willi Boskovsky himself demonstrate the most beautiful Viennese tunes on the violin!
