Roman Burdenko has performed Escamillo in Carmen, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, both Tonio and Silvio in Pagliacci, Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana, Shelkalov in Boris Godunov, the title part in Eugene Onegin, Ibn-Hakia in Iolanta, Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades, Germont in La Traviata, and Egist in Orestea.

He was a soloist in Opera High Lights concerts in Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Rome) and performed Escamillo in Carmen (Seoul Cultural Center), Sasha in Moskva, Cheryomushki (Lyon), Tonio in Pagliacci and Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana (Santiago de Chile), Renato in Un ballo in maschera (Mikhailovsky Theatre, St. Petersburg), the title role in Prince Igor (Bangkok Cultural Centre and Novosibirsk).

More recently Roman Burdenko made his debut as Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra in Strasbourg and was cover of Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades (Metropolitan Opera, New York), Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor (Palm Beach Opera).

Upcoming engagements include Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor (Teatro Calderón Valladolid Spain, Lille France, Lima Peru), Ford in Falstaff (Glyndebourne Festival), the title parts in Prince Igor and in Aleko, Escamillo in Carmen, Germont in La Traviata, Valentin in Faust (all in Novosibirsk), Marcello in La Bohème, Ibn-Hakia in Iolanta, Renato in Un ballo in maschera, and Tomsky in The Queen of Spades (all at Mikhailovsky Theatre, St. Petersburg), Marcello in La Bohème (Komische Oper Berlin), baritone solo in Prokofiev’s Le Lieutenant and in a solo concert with orchestra (Festival Radio France, Montpellier).

Roman Burdenko is the winner of many prestigious singing competitions including Francisco Viňas in Barcelona (3rd Prize, 2011), Monte Carlo Voice Masters Competition (Grand Prix, 2011), Competizione dell’Opera (1st Prize, 2011), and Concours de chant lyrique Long-Thibaud-Crespin in Paris (2nd Prize, 2011), and recently Plácido Domingo’s Operalia in Beijing, China (3rd Prize, 2012), among others.
