Ilia is studying in N. Natsvlishvili's class at E. Mikeladze Central Musical School in Tbilisi.
He won a lot of international competitions: the IV International Musical Contest-Festival "Reniassance" in Armenia (2012, I prize); the Golden Key International Music Festival for Young Pianists in Frankfurt, Germany (2013, Grand Prix); the Astana Piano Passion International Competition (I prize, 2015); the International A. Babajanyan Contest-Festival in Erevan (2013, I prize); the International N. Gabunia Musical Competition (I prize, 2013); the International Festival-Competition "Harmony" in Turkey (2014, Grand Prix); the International Competition "Future Stars" in Tbilisi, Georgia (2014, Grand Prix);
The young pianist takes part in various festivals, gives concerts in different European countries, including concerts organized by the UN, which are broadcast by Mezzo and TV5 Monde.
Ilia has scholarship of SOS Talents Foundation.
