At 21, Korean pianist Yunchan Lim is already one of the most sought-after artists in the world. His performances of Rachmaninov, Bach, Liszt, and Tchaikovsky, among others, have made for sold-out concerts and top-selling albums, and now he turns the focus of his genius to Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor. A statement of striking singularity in the piano repertoire, the Schumann concerto comprises three uninterrupted movements of pianistic poetry, as formidable for its enormous range of expression as for its passages of delicate finger work. In Amsterdam, Lim performs this artist and audience favorite alongside the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Czech maestro Jakub Hrůša, who also conducts two works by his countrymen: Dvořák's passionate tone poem The Wild Dove, and the epic symphonic tribute to the Czech capital, Prague, by Dvořák's pupil and son-in-law Josef Suk.
