Sobre el programa...

As Brahms liked to call it "Human requiem," Ein Deutsches Requiem breaks with tradition of Catholic requiem using inspiration from the Protestant Bible of Luther. Brahms wrote the text himself giving more importance to the living. Remarkable piece of sacred music, this work was written soon after the genius of Hamburg's mother passed away (1865).

Here is a transcription for two pianos, very intimate, inviting the audience to a very personal meditation. Brahms created this in London in 1871. On this occasion, Patrick Marco is leading an excellent vocal group combining the Maîtrise de Paris, the chœur d'Annecy Classic Festival and the males from the Chœur Accentus. On piano, Claire Marie Le Guay and Christine Lajarrige respond to them by creating the colors of the orchestra to enhance emotion of this masterpiece.
