Daniel Barenboim conducts Haydn and Mozart – With Kian Soltani

Daniel Barenboim and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra give a grand concert in Geneva defending human rights.

Founded in 1999 by the Israeli-Argentinian pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim and the Palestinian-American writer Edward Saïd, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra brings together 80 young artists from Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan to promote dialogue and peace in the Middle East. Traveling from his home in Seville, the orchestra joins Barenboim and cellist Kian Soltani on stage at the Palais des Nations, United Nations, Geneva. The program includes Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 1 and Mozart's Sinfonia concertante.
