International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition
About
Established and inaugurated in 1927, the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious music events of its kind in the world. Held every five years, it has introduced the world to generations of all-time piano greats — including Lev Oborin, Bella Davidovich, Adam Harasiewicz, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, Garrick Ohlsson, Mitsuko Uchida, Krystian Zimerman, Yundi, Rafał Blechacz, Yulianna Avdeeva, Daniil Trifonov, Seong-Jin Cho, and Bruce Liu. In the course of the past century, the formal aspects of the competition have constantly evolved, with changes to the program, judging criteria, prizes, and media, while all along two things have remained constant: Chopin's eternal music and the fascinating pull it continues to exert on pianists and audiences alike. medici.tv is honored to bring you the final rounds of the 2025 edition, organized by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute!
