About
Founded in 1939 under the name of Concours International d’Exécution Musicale, the Concours de Genève — International Music Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious classical music competitions in the world. Among its laureates, we can find a great number of legendary performers: Friedrich Gulda, Martha Argerich, Nelson Goerner, and Emmanuel Pahud,; to name just a few. The aim of the competition, open to all under 30, is to promote and support young talents by providing them with the necessary tools for their international careers to blossom, notably through the organization of complementary events, such as masterclasses, workshops for the laureates, and the opportunity for the winners to perform in concerts dedicated to them. Since its creation, 26 musical disciplines have been presented in alternance, under the watchful eye of an international jury. Violists get a shot at Geneva glory in 2025, and you can watch the semi-finals and thrilling final round on medici.tv, as well as a special opening concert featuring Tabea Zimmermann and the Novo Quartet, winners of last year's competition!
