Program notes

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth, delve into this compilation of his most beautiful chamber works and piano works, created especially for this occasion!

In addition to his taste for an unusual blend of sounds, it is his singular approach to rhythm, melodic line, and harmonic color that makes Ravel such a unique composer. Discover La Parade, dedicated to the dancer Antonine Meunier, the brief Minuet in C Sharp Minor, the Berceuse on the name of Gabriel Fauré in which he pays tribute to his composition teacher, and the Fugue in B Major, composed for the Prix de Rome in 1902.
