Master Class with Wolfgang Boettcher

Solo cellist of the Berliner Philharmoniker from 1963 to 1976, Wolfgang Boettcher is a master of his instrument, celebrated as a pedagogue and soloist. In this master class he and student Ye-Jin Han work together on the preeminent classical concerto for his instrument, Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D Major, a work of great lyricism and surprising technical difficulty composed in 1783 for Esterházy Court virtuoso Antonín Kraft.
