Jean-Guihen Queyras, one of today’s most influential interpreters of Bach’s solo cello repertoire, gives a master class on the Suite No. 3 in C Major to student Ye-Jin Han. Probably the most popular of Bach’s works for solo cello, the C Major suite is beloved for its nobility, ebullience, and transparent contrapuntal invention. Six dance movements follow an improvisatory prelude: Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Bourrée 1, Bourrée 2, and Gigue.
