Gifted with exceptional vocal abilities, Youn Sun Nah is a star of vocal jazz. A Korean singer residing in France, she captivates audiences every time she takes the stage. After dedicating a large part of her career putting her own spin on others' compositions over the span of ten albums, Youn Sun Nah's new album, Waking World, is purely of her own invention. She speaks her mind as her voice rings out over the stage and reveals her deepest emotions. Just twenty years after the release of Light for the People, the album that won her popular attention, Youn Sun Nah has released her new opus with eleven songs faithful to the different universes of her discography, borrowing from jazz, pop, folk and world music, and deploying new cinematographic and poetic dimensions.
