Relive the dazzling performance of the Shake Stew band during the Jazzahead Festival 2018! A spirited concert with jazz and afro-beat inspired improvisations by the young virtuosos of the European jazz scene.
Shake Stew is an Austrian band formed in 2016 by bassist and composer Lukas Kranzelbinder. This atypical band—consisting of two drummers, two bassists, and three instrumentalists—has met with increasing success in recent years. Shake Stew’s albums have received critical acclaim in Jazzthing Magazine, The Wire, and The Guardian. They won the German Jazz Award in 2021 in the category ‘International Band of the Year’.
