Shake Stew is an Austrian band formed in 2016 by bassist and composer Lukas Kranzelbinder. This atypical band—consisting of two drummers, two bassists, and three instrumentalists—has met with increasing success in recent years. Shake Stew’s albums have received critical acclaim in Jazzthing Magazine, The Wire, and The Guardian. They won the German Jazz Award in 2021 in the category ‘International Band of the Year’.
