Sekou Kouyate in Zurich

For this concert in 2018 at the famous Moods jazz club in Zurich, Sekou Kouyate and his group invites us to experience an evening full of emotions inspired by Mandinka classical music, jazz, reggae, funk, and blues. 

Guinean kora player and singer Kouyate is one of the most outstanding artists of his generation. Born in a family of musicians, he became a master of traditional West African music, and uses the music of his homeland to combine it with blues, soul, funk, and contemporary jazz. He is also the inventor of the electric kora, that enables the player to explore a large spectrum of musical possibilities.
