Marcus Miller at Vienne

Marcus Miller performs live at the Jazz à Vienne festival in France, in June 2013, a stop along the way of the bassist’s Renaissance world tour. The two-time Grammy Award-winning bassist has been refining his sound throughout his career, which started in his teenage years, and Renaissance is a culmination of many decades of Miller’s presence and experience on the jazz fusion scene.

Previously co-writing and performing in collaboration with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and many other icons of jazz, Miller’s expertise in leading an ensemble is evident in this live performance. The strength of Miller’s basslines, and the tight rhythm section behind him give the bassist and the ensemble freedom to build complex improvisation within Miller's works. Beside Miller, an exciting lineup of younger musicians bring their unique ensemble sound to create a groovy, exciting set of original compositions.
