Program notes

During the 2016 edition of the Festival Sons d'Hiver, the Chicago Hypnotic Brass Band's wind section gifts us with a memorable performance in the Maison des Arts de Créteil. Made up of nine members, eight of whom are Phil Cohran's children, an artist known for his frequent collaborations with legendary pianist and composer Sun Ra. This unique performance is filled with euphoric and youthful energy.

These extremely gifted young musicians already have an impressive resume: from the beginning of their career they have continued their illustrious father's legacy, toured the world with such artists as Sting and Damon Albarn, and collaborated with the greatest names of our time. Yet another claim to fame is the inclusion of their song War in the 2012 blockbuster Hunger Games. As indicated by their name, they give us a beautiful and hypnotic concert!

This is just one of over 500 amazing jazz concerts available on medici.tv!
