American poet, scholar, activist, and hip-hop singer Akua Naru has been enjoying increasing success since she moved to Europe in the late 2000s. Her music blends jazz, soul, and hip-hop, while advocating optimistic feminism and political awareness. As part of her academic work promoting social justice, Akua Naru has been invited to lecture at Harvard, Oxford, Cornell, Princeton, Brown, Fordham, and Cologne.
