Program notes

Valérie Brégaint and Zahia Ziouani (musical director of the Orchestre symphonique Divertimento), are very invested in the development of access to culture for all and the promotion of symphonic and operatic music.

Zahia Ziouani turned thirty 2008, and is one of the youngest French conductors. An artist of international renown, Zahia has also been the director of Stains Music Conservatory since 1993. As an Activist of the appeal of 93, she fights against prejudices toward people's upbringings and places of origin.

Valérie Brégaint seeks to discover this woman of action, determined, positive and bright, set to a dive in an environment (cultural, social and geographical) that is free from prejudice. This portrait is emblematic of the contemporary adventure of a woman and a region and their diversities. It also reveals a formal research on the limits of representation: how to create a portrait of a woman breaking prejudices in pictures.
