The life and work of the French prima ballerina assoluta, Yvette Chauviré.
Dominique Delouche goes back over the exceptional artistic career of Yvette Chauviré. Born in 1917, the French prima ballerina assoluta enters the Paris Ballet Opera School at the age of 10 and trains with Boris Knyaseff and Victor Gsovsky. In 1934, she joins the Ballet and climbs step by step the institution's hierarchy up to the highest ladder; she is named an "étoile" in 1941.
Yvette Chauviré won fame with all the Major works of the classic repertoire, but especially in the role of Giselle which she performed on the most prestigious stages worldwide.
