The famous choreographer Pierre Lacotte and his muse Ghislaine Thesmar, principale dancer and acclaimed teacher at the Opéra de Paris, have dedicated their lives to the art of ballet. Pierre Lacoste work on many of the most beautiful choreographies (The Voice, La Sylphide, Ondine...) of the Bolshoi, Mariinsky Ballet, and Paris Opera. Today, he is considered the guardian of Romantic ballet. A Life for Ballet focuses on these two monumental figures of classical dance and explores sixty years of ballet, from 1954 to 2010, through never-before-seen archival photography.
