When the Saints Go Marching In is often played in traditional funeral celebrations in New Orleans, called “funeral jazz.” It was probably Louis Armstrongs’ celebrated version that pushed this song to the level of timeless classic. This explores focuses on the gospel music tradition of New Orleans.
