Evgeny Kissin's profoundly moving and poetic interpretations of the greatest classical piano works have established him as one of the most gifted pianists of his generation and earned him global reverence. At the 2025 edition of the Verbier Festival, Kissin brings his legendary technique and world-renowned sensibility to an exquisite program of Bach, Chopin, and Shostakovich. Bask in the Baroque beauty of Bach’s Partita No. 2 in C Minor as Kissin dances through light, dance-like passages with virtuosic ease, and brings out sentimental, almost spiritual, nuances in the slower movements. The emotional intensity heightens in Kissin’s sublime rendition of two soulful Chopin Nocturnes, followed by fireworks in the Scherzo No. 4. To round out the program, the master pianist dazzles in Shostakovich's mesmerizing Piano Sonata No. 2 and two of his twenty-four Preludes and Fugues.
