In 1721, Johann Sebastian Bach dedicated six new concertos to Prince Christian-Ludwig von Brandenburg-Schwedt. Despite this gesture, the works were never performed because of the instrumentation and the works’ musical complexity. The rich concertos, varied and extremely inventive, get the star-treatment with the conductor Reinhard Goebel and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra.
