Program notes

The virtuoso Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk and the celebrated pianist Kirill Gerstein meet on the stage of the Verbier Church for a concert of chamber music masterpieces.

The two soloists begin with a performance of Janáček's Pohádka, a composition inspired by the Russian author Vasily Zhukovsky's epic poem. Prokofiev's superb Cello Sonata in C Major, written for the legendary cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, closes the concert.
