Program notes

Legendary pianist Martha Argerich returns to the Château de Chantilly with some very special guests to perform two rich and rewarding works: Rachmaninov's Romance in A major for piano six-hands and Saint-Saëns' Le Carnaval des animaux! For this 2023 edition of the Coups de Cœur à Chantilly, Argerich invites her daughter, Lyda Chen, and grandsons, David Chen and Roman Blagojevic, to share the stage with her for a moment of classical magic. They are also joined by a number of renowned musical friends, including Iddo Bar-Shaï, the event's Artistic Director, as well as cellist Edgar Moreau and flutist Stathis Karapanos. Together, they celebrate music as a priceless act of togetherness, crafting a moving and exciting performance that captures the emotion of Rachmaninov and the animal energy of Saint-Saëns!
