The annual Hollywood in Vienna gala brings us another lively evening of music from big- and small-screen favorites, this time dedicated to iconic comedies of cinema and television, including The Simpsons, The Pink Panther, The Artist, and Love Actually, performed by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. The festivities are led by conductor-composer David Newman, whose score for The War of the Roses features on the program — and whose cousin, Randy Newman, gets a marvelous tribute in the evening's second half! In a selection of the most memorable works by the two-time Oscar winner and veritable giant of contemporary film music, this gala shines a light on Randy's inimitable style, melodic sense, subtle irony, and emotional sincerity. A true celebration of film music, this edition of Hollywood in Vienna promises all the spectacle and magic of the silver screen itself!
