Program notes

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra invites audiences on a journey across the universe with some of the most memorable tunes in the history of science-fiction cinema. From the mystical scores to Dune (both the David Lynch and Denis Villeneuve versions) to the iconic Star Wars themes by John Williams, Michael Giacchino's high-tech soundscapes for the Star Trek films, and many more silver screen favorites, this concert blends symphonic force with choral majesty. Headed by exceptional soloists Sinne Eeg, Isabel Schwartzbach, and Kristoffer Appel, the program highlights moments of both human-level intimacy and intergalactic grandeur, deploying the full emotional palette of our favorite mythical universes and propelling us into faraway solar systems and imaginary worlds…
