Evgeny Svetlanov conducts Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 3

In rare footage from 1985, Evgeny Svetlanov conducts the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3, “Polonaise”. The great maestro made conducting world-renowned ensembles in the Russian repertoire his life’s work... from Scriabin, Glinka, and Glazunov to Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, and, last but not least, Tchaikovsky, whose complete symphonies he conducts in this series of archival concert recordings.
