An Alpine Symphony by Richard Strauss represents the epitome of the symphonic poem. This evocative masterpiece, structured into 22 parts, each picturing a stage of the ascent to a majestic peak (as well as its descent), takes us through a day in the mountains, from dawn to dusk that may include a terrifying thunderstorm.

Who better than a renowned mountaineer to lead us on this journey? This is the groundbreaking choice made by Robin Ticciati and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, who share the stage with Reinhold Messner, a mounteneering legend notably known as the first person to climb Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen.
