The Moments musicaux, D. 780, op. 94, are six short piano pieces from the Austrian composer’s late period. Even though their formal unity might suggest the contrary, these pieces were conceived intermittently, between 1823 and 1828. As such, we can imagine the composer revisiting and revising these pieces over the course of the years, in an intense dialogue with the Schubert of another time.
