Program notes

Adrien Boisseau and Gaspard Dehaene in a viola and piano duet live from the Flâneries Musicales de Reims.

Launched in 1990, Les Flâneries Musicales d'été de Reims are managed by the Flâneries Musicales de Reims association, which was founded to promote music in the city of Reims and surrounding areas. It has been twenty years now that each summer, young musicians and artists of international fame join forces in the beautiful city of Reims, France. Each year, they perform over fifty concerts in such various and lovely locations as the Basilique Saint-Remi, the house of the Counts of Champagne, the cathedral, the opera, the Palace of Tau, etc.

In 2012, the Flâneries Musicales de Reims inaugurated a brand new concert series named "Debuts," dedicated to the young talents of classical music. medici.tv partners with Les Flâneries for the 3rd consecutive year to broadcast the 3 "Debuts" concerts.

Gaspard Dehaene has been awarded many international awards (including the second prize of the San Sebastian International piano competition, and the first prize of the Alain Marinaro competition) and has performed in many festivals in France (Musique en Bourbonnais, Festival Chopin, Piano en Valois, La Roque d'Anthéron, etc).

In 2012, he decided to transmit his passion for chamber music by recording a CD with his friend Adrien Boisseau, a talented viola player.

Adrien Boisseau is one of the best violists of his generation, and he has also been rewarded with many international awards such as FMAJI or Max Rostal's. He played under the baton of world-renowned directors, notably under Pierre Boulez after having joined the Lucerne Festival Academy.

The two young performers are once again sharing their passion for chamber music, playing together Schumann, Schubert, and Brahms.

Don't miss their performance on medici.tv!
