Yuki Manuela Janke

About

She was born in Munich and received her first violin instruction at the age of three. Her first success was winning the “Jugend musiziert” competition in Germany in 2001. Later she won First Prizes at many international competitions, including the Spohr Competition in Weimar, Postacchini Competiton, Marteau Competition, Brahms Competition in Poertschach, the Kloster Schoental, Sendai International Music Competition in Japan, Long – Thibaud Competition in Paris, the Leopold Mozart Violin Competition.

In 2004, she won the renowned Premio Paganini in Genova and since then has been giving concerts with such orchestras as Berliner Rundfunk Symphonieorchester, WDR Rundfunkorchester, Sendai Philharmonic, Osaka Century Symphony Orchestra, Buenos Aires Philharmony Orchestra (in Teatro Colon), National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. Yuki Manuela gave recitals in different cities of Europe, Japan, South America, and was invited to Music Festivals Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schleswig-Holstein, „Lago Maggiore“ in Italy, „Instrumenta“ in Mexico and Bach-Festival in Bern.

Yuki Manuela is supported by the foundation “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” and has been a scholar of the “Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes” since 2005. She is playing the Stradivarius “Muntz” (Cremona, 1736) loaned by the Nippon Music Foundation.

In 2007 she won the Third Prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the First Prize at the Sarasate Competition in Pamplona.
