He becomes one of the greatest performers of Olivier Messiaen's works. His repertoire includes also numerous works by Beethoven, Bartók, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Schubert, Stravinsky and Schumann.
In 1967, he makes his recital debuts in Paris, then begins a brilliant career that leads him to perform under the baton of such prestigious conductors as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Kurt Masur, Seiji Ozawa, Andre Previn, Mstislav Rostropovich, Michael Tilson Thomas and many others. He also performs alongside renowned musicians including Pierre Amoyal, Martha Argerich, Jean-Philippe Collard, Augustin Dumay, Lynn Harrell and Barbara Hendricks.
He gives concerts all around the world, touring in Japan, England, Spain, France, Greece, the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Brazil and Korea. In 2006 the Japanese television films him giving fifteen master classes on French music.
Michel Béroff recorded numerous works by Liszt, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Bartók, Brahms, Debussy, Messiaen, Schumann and Schubert. He has been an exclusive artist of EMI for more than twenty years and also records for Deutsche Grammophon and Denon.
In addition to his career as a soloist, Michel Béroff is a conductor and he has been teaching at the CNSM since 1989. He has also been teaching at the Musikhochschule of Friburg in Germany since 1994.
